Join us for a cocktail reception on Thurs August 28, 2008 from 7P-Midnight.
The show will run until Sept 25, 2008.
Jenny Mollen was born in Phoenix, Arizona to a family of doctors. Her
work in local theater led to experiences with The Old Globe in San
Diego, California, The Idywild School, and the renowned Oregon
Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. For college Jenny attended
UCLAs School of theater, film, and television. While at UCLA, she
earned immediate industry attention for a one woman show she both
wrote and produced entitled Not A Pretty . Graduating with her
degree in just three years, Jenny has also studied and lived in Paris,
France and Heidelberg, Germany. She is fluent in both languages.
Jenny is best known as an actress for playing Nina Ash in the TV
series Angel. She has also played a leading role in National
Lampoons Cattle Call (2006). She agreed to take the role only if her
characters dog is played by her real-life dog , Mr. John W. Teets,
which he did. She was a part of the CBS Viva Laughlin cast and is in
the upcoming My Best Friends Girl, starring Kate Hudson and Dane Cook.
Jenny has been showing art since 2000. Her subjects are generally
women. She says her goal of each piece is to tell a story about the
girl within them. She says her work tends to be very
autobiographical, with the exception that I paint who I wish I could
be and what I wish I would say... The last solo show Cut Your
Losses was in October in LA. All work was on stolen pieces of wood
found in Los Angeles. She joked that she had to invite all her
neighbors so she could sell them their kitchen table back. Prior to
that, Jenny did a show called Accidentally on Purpose and a show
called Youre Glad Youre Not My Boyfriend that debuted in LA and
then moved to London where every piece sold.
Jenny showed her work at Ghettogloss in a group show in December.
Ghettogloss then took Jenny to NYC to debut her series of Cannon Ball
Girls, all paintings of girls in parachutes being shot out of a
cannon. This series makes up the pattern for Jennys upcoming home
line, a line of curtains, sheets, wallpaper, etc with cannon ball girl
prints. Jenny is scheduled for a solo show at Ghettogloss at the end
of this year.
